MIGRAINES

I have fallen in love with all things peppermint.  This is the greatest thing that God could have made.

I have suffered from Migraines for years.   After being introduced to doTERRA products, I discovered that peppermint was a great help in relieving Migraines.

When I have a Migraine, I pour about five to ten drops of Peppermint into the palm of my hand.  I then rub the peppermint all over the back of my neck.  Sometimes I use this along with an ice pack.  The two together work wonders in relieving the pain of a Migraine.  Another product that you can use along with the peppermint is doTERRA’s deep blue.  This comes in a lotion or drops.  You can rub this on the back of your neck along with the peppermint.  The deep blue has pain relieving properties and works great when used along with the peppermint.

The peppermint will cause a tingling sensation on your neck.  It’s not really a burning sensation but a strong tingle.  I love this feeling.  You can also breathe in the aroma by placing the palms of your hands over your nose and breathing deeply.

HAIR GROWTH

Many years ago I used a shampoo and conditioner that had peppermint in it.  I loved the way the peppermint made a tingling sensation on my scalp.  When I became involved with doTERRA and fell in love with their peppermint essential oil, I decided to try it in my conditioner.

What I do is pour the conditioner into my hand, then I make a little well in the conditioner where I can pour the peppermint.  I pour approximately 10 drops of peppermint essential oil into the well and stir it around into the conditioner.  I then put the conditioner in my hair.

I always make sure that I have a small amount of the conditioner to rub on the back of my neck.  I love the sensation and aroma on my scalp and neck.

You can also pour the peppermint essential oil into the bottle of conditioner and shake it up.  It will mix with the conditioner and be ready for use.  I prefer to pour it in my hands because I think that I use more peppermint than most people do.  I like the stronger feeling.  You can adjust it to your liking.

Once I started using the peppermint essential oil in my hair, my hair started growing extremely fast.  I have had other people that I see daily make comments on how much my hair grows.   This also works great for people with thin hair.

There is only one warning that I will pass on.  After you put the conditioner and peppermint in your hair, don’t rub your eyes or private area until you use some soap to wash your hands.  If you don’t, you will have a strong tingling sensation in those areas!  Not pleasant.

COOL DOWN & RELAXATION

Peppermint has great cooling qualities.  If you like to exercise or jog, you can place some peppermint on your neck and as the air combines with it, it will cool you down.

PICK ME UP

If you need an energy boost, you can place a drop or two in the palm of your hand and inhale the aroma.  You can also place several drops on your wrist, neck or temples.

DIGESTIVE HEALTH

You can put several drops in a gel capsule and take it internally.  This will help with an upset stomach and indigestion.

RESPIRATORY HEALTH

When you take peppermint orally, it promotes healthy respiratory functions and clear breathing.

REPELS BUGS

You can put a few drops on a cotton ball and place them in different areas of your house.  The peppermint will repel bugs.

ORAL RINSE

You can combine two drops of peppermint with two drops of lemon in water and make a great mouthwash or breath freshener.

RECIPES

You can add drops of peppermint essential oil to any recipe to give it a refreshing twist.  I like to add it to my smoothies and to many of my cake or icing recipes.

I love to keep things simple.  I will use a white box cake mix and add approximately 15 drops of peppermint essential oil.  I also add fresh blueberries to the batter.  It makes a great cake.  I top it with a sprinkle of powdered sugar and you have a fancy cake you can take to any party.
